Our service at 10:00 a.m. includes singing and Bible teaching. Our singing is an act of worship to God; feel free to sit, stand, or dance. This is followed by a practical 30 minute message that is life-giving.
You'll see everything from jeans to suits. River Church is for everyone!
If you have children (from birth to 6th grade), they can participate in our fun and safe Children's Ministry during the service.
Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in our family room. Come early or stay late to enjoy fellowship with others.
Take a minute to look around and explore how you can connect with God, grow in community and make a difference by serving others at River Church.
Thanks for taking a couple of minutes to check out our website. God is doing amazing things in His church and we would love for you to be part of it! We are committed to being a life-giving Church with big vision where we exist to be “A church designed with the unchurched in mind."
We would love to go on the journey with you no matter where you are spiritually. Whether you are exploring God, not religious at all, wonder about Jesus or the Bible, looking for a church home or have been going to church for years, we are glad you are here.
I invite you to explore what it means to follow Jesus with us. I would love to meet you and take you out for a cup of coffee! Really! If there is anything we can do to help, please let us know.
Blessings to you!
Church designed with the unchurched in mind.
Love God. Love People. Make Followers of Jesus.
Family: Laurie (wife), Lillian, Levi, Lara and Lindor (our chocolate Lab)
Background: I love my family and I have been in ministry two decades inside and outside the local church in Indiana and Colorado loving and caring for all ages. I attended Hope College (B.A.), Columbia International University (M.Div.), and Fuller Theological Seminary (D.Min.). I love to preach the Bible, cast compelling vision, read all about ministry and write on the things that matter most. My family loves Colorado (Go Rapids! Go Broncos!) and get to the great outdoors to hike.
Family: Kristen (wife), Alexa, Ethan, Avery and Erik
Background: I’m a transplanted west coast Canadian, who’s crazy about his family and the road that Jesus has us on. I’ve been fortunate to have been in various ministry roles over the past 30 years from Youth Pastor, Worship Leader/Pastor, Church Planter, Lead Pastor, and ongoing Mission Team Coordinator to name a few. I have an undergraduate degree in Religion from Taylor University in Edmonton, Alberta and a Mdiv from Sioux Falls Seminary. I am deeply passionate about Ethiopia and it’s people. Our family loves being outside. Exploring. Laughing.
Family: Jeff (husband), Lillian, Levi, Lara and Lindor (our chocolate Lab)
Background: I'm a teacher, pastor’s wife and mama to three. I graduated with honors at Columbia International University receiving degrees in Bible and Early/Elementary Education. I have a passion for God’s Word and desire for others to know the whole of scripture, regardless of age or experience. I firmly believe Christ can redeem and transform any life for His glory! My passion for the Word comes alive in my simple approach and enthusiasm while teaching, all relating back to my love for Jesus. I boldly love my family and help support my husband, Jeff, lead pastor at River Church, while parenting three children in elementary, middle and high schools (just when one stage is over, another one is entering). In my spare moments and in order to recharge, I can usually be found outdoors running a trail, walking our chocolate lab, or finding a good bargain.
Family: I was born and raised in Mobridge, South Dakota by two loving parents.
Background: If you wanted to find me during high school, you would find me doing sports, football wrestling, and track. After high school I enrolled to Colorado Christian University. I have since, graduated with B.A. in youth ministry. I've spent the last four years as an intern with the youth ministry at Ken Caryl Baptist Church. My passions are sports, hiking, longboarding and youth. I am excited to be at River Church and to be apart of what God is already doing here.
Family: Jim and Deedee (Parents), Hannah (sister), Samuel and Benjamin (brothers), Shasta and Murphy (dogs).
Background: I was born and raised in Denver and am the oldest of four crazy kids. I attended Colorado Christian University from 2014-2016 and am currently pursuing a degree in Recreational Management at Metropolitan State University. Aside from River Church, you can find me working for Westminster Parks and Recreation as an aquatics manager. My passions are for worship through music and writing. I am not remotely athletic, but I do enjoy hiking and swimming in my free time. I am excited to be a part of River Church and its vision for the community.
Family: Rod (husband) and Lucy (our dog)
Background: I have a real passion for quality communication. A few years ago I traded cornfields for skyscrapers, and now I find myself settled next to the mountains. I'm a Nebraska native who found my way to Colorado after graduating from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. After getting a degree in Communications and Biblical Studies. On the weekends you can find me golfing, finding great restaurants or rooting for—you guessed it—the Nebraska Cornhuskers. GO. BIG. RED.
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, these core values bring clarity to the things that matter most at River Church. They guide how we achieve our vision, influencing major leadership decisions, as well as everyday ministry plans. They even help us navigate staffing and budget issues. In short, they keep us focused on the unique call God has given us as a local church.
Worship is a lifestyle, not just a church service!
Discipleship is to become more like Jesus.
APPLICATION OF SCRIPTURE
Teaching is for encouragement, challenge and life change.
We need to grow larger and smaller at the same time.
There is a place for everyone to volunteer on a ministry team.
We change methods, but never the message.
While all families are different, all families can be spiritually strengthened.
the poor matter to God, so they matter to us.
We are a family expecting guests.
INVEST AND INVITE
Every person matters to God.
The Bible is God's word to all people. It was written by human authors under supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has externally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God, called the "Trinity".
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended into Heaven's glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. Christians seek to live under his control daily.
Man and Woman are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like him in character. He is the supreme object of God's creation. Although man and woman have tremendous potential for good, they are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin". This attitude separates humans from God.
Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ, as God's offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin's penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God, through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God places a person in Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in a place called Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence forever.
